There is a vineyard that we call “Son e Cand”, a name that in Abruzzese dialect means "plays and sings”, and it is much more than just land.

This was the nickname of Grandma Nicoletta’s family, who had the gift of bringing joy wherever they went, turning even the toughest days into reasons to celebrate.

They didn’t throw a party every night, no. But when the time came for the big tasks in the fields—like harvesting wheat or gathering grapes—the families from the village would come together. And in those moments, the hard work became an excuse to laugh, sing, and simply be together.

After a long day toiling under the sun, dinner became a kind of celebration: tables laid out under the open sky, laughter filling the air, and someone always starting up a song.

And anyone with Abruzzese grandparents will know—those evenings were when hearts often found each other. Between smiles and music, quiet, meaningful love stories would begin, wrapped in melodies that still echo through the most cherished memories.

Today, that vineyard hasn’t lost its vibrant spirit. It’s where we grow our Pinot Grigio IGT Terre di Chieti — and it’s no coincidence that this is where one of our most fragrant and expressive wines is born.

There’s something truly special about that land. Something you can’t quite put into words… but you can definitely taste it.

Here’s to Nonna Nicoletta, to her traditions, and to that piece of earth that will never stop telling its stories.
